Dear SCC School Community,

The Bids for Boosters Holiday Auction, scheduled for November 16, 2019 at 6:00 PM, is the largest and most important annual fundraiser for Saints athletics. We have a target to raise $47,000 at this year’s auction which goes directly into funding our athletic teams. Please consider volunteering, serving as an auction sponsor, donating a silent or live auction item, and/or placing an ad in our program to help out with this wonderful event. Every contribution makes a meaningful and positive impact on our student athletes. If you need information on how to donate an item, become a sponsor, or place an ad please email me or Laura Levis llevis@syrdiocese.org   

The first 2019 Bids for Boosters Auction meeting is scheduled for September 19, 2019 at 7:00 PM at SCC. The following is a list of volunteer opportunities for the auction. For those of you who are veteran volunteers, thank you!! If you haven’t yet done so, please let me know if you would like to continue in the same role or if you’d like to try something new. For those of you who haven’t volunteered for the auction before, please consider joining one of the committees listed below. The auction is hard work but it’s also a very rewarding event that gives us a chance to celebrate our Saints community. I’ve included the committee name and a brief description:

  • Donation Committee:       Secure items for both the live and silent auctions
  • Live Committee:                Identify items for the live auction including description write ups
  • Silent Committee:             Identify items for the silent auction including table set ups and write ups
  • Food Committee:              Responsible for the dinner buffet, dessert (Sara Kemp), and drinks
  • Set Up:                                Ordering tables, etc., sports teams will do the actual set up labor
  • Clean Up:                           Clean up after the event (Robert Phillips)
  • Mailing Committee:         Donation requests sent, invitations, thank you letters
  • Publicity:                            Publicizes the auction outside the CSBC (Mary Beth Walsh)
  • Team Baskets:                  Coordinates with team parents to secure the team baskets for the silent auction (Nicole Huff)
  • Publications Committee: Produces all published materials (Christine Ackerman)
  • Reservation Committee: Accepts reservations and payments, assigns tables
  • Check In:                             Welcomes attendees and accepts payments at the door
  • Check Out:                          Takes payments, ensures items dispersal, prepares income statement
  • Decorations Committee: Responsible for decorations for the event

Please forward this email to anyone else that you think would be interested in being a booster volunteer. Any level of commitment is appreciated with many hands making light work.
