Can my children attend The Catholic Schools of Broome County if they are not Catholic?
All of the Catholic Schools of Broome County, admit students of any religion, race, color or sex.
What is considered affiliated?
Do you follow NYS curriculum?
The Catholic Schools of Broome County follow New York State and Diocesan curriculum guidelines.
Are your teachers certified?
Many of our teachers are certified by the New York State Education Department.
Can my child be bused to school?
Transportation is provided through your child’s public school district. Forms are available through the school’s office until April 1st. After that date, you must contact the district.
Do you offer AP (advanced placement) and honors classes?
Yes , The Catholic Schools of Broome County offer both AP and Honor level classes in many subject areas.
Is tuition assistance available?
Yes, families in our system are eligible for tuition assistance. To apply for assistance obtain an application at any of our schools and submit the application by the application deadline.
What is the tuition rate?
Tuition rate for the school is set by the diocese and can be viewed here.
Do I have to pay all at once?
There are several payment plans available. Call the Catholic Schools Office at 607-723-1547 to find the method that best works for you.
Do students have to wear a uniform?
Yes, The Catholic Schools of Broome County students from Pre-K through 12th grade are required to wear a uniform. Our dress code policy can be found in the student handbook and on our website.
Do you offer before or after school care?
The Catholic Schools of Broome County offer both a before and after school care program at our elementary schools. Our before school care begins at 7:00 am, and after school care begins immediately at dismissal, and runs until between 5:30 and 6pm (depending on the school).

What a night! We kicked off the #50yearsofSCC celebration this past Friday at our Annual Green Tie event. The evening was full of celebration as we honored our Teachers of the Year, Ms. Briana Howell, Mr. Kevin Tye, Mr. Tony Basile, and Mrs. Mary Newins, as well as our 2026 Saintly Service Recipient, Deacon Jan DeAngelo, and we are so blessed by the generosity of our CSBC community, we raised $150,000 for tuition assistance! Thank you again to our event sponsors for making this event a reality: John and Cheryl Mirabito, Gallagher Baker, PC, Lalor Family Dental, Scoville-Meno Family of Dealerships, Slavik & Co., and the Schmidt Family. God Bless and Go Saints!

This week, Mr. Pipher’s Careers and Vocations classes at Seton welcomed special guest speakers, Father Ignatius and Father Charbel from Mount Saint Hermitage in Endicott and Father Cornelius Deep a recently ordained Pastoral Vicar. The speakers shared their faith journeys and gave students an inside look at what daily life is like living out their unique spiritual callings.
A huge thank you to the speakers for sharing their wisdom, and to Mr. Ramil for connecting us with Father Charbel and Father Ignatius!

My current roles at Seton Catholic Central include serving as the School Nurse and Varsity Cheerleading Coach. As a former SCC cheerleader, I am especially grateful for the opportunity to bring the cheerleading program back to the school and share my passion for the sport with a new generation of students.
I graduated from SCC in 2018 and continued my education at Broome Community College before attending Binghamton University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2022.
Seton Catholic Central and the Catholic schools of Broome County hold a very special place in my heart. Having experienced the community as a student, I truly believe in the values, relationships, and sense of belonging that these schools provide."

Staff/alumni shoutouts! Next up is Joy (Ivancie) Ousterout, class of `02.
After almost 25 years since graduating from Seton Catholic Central in 2002, Joy finds herself once again roaming familiar halls as she enters her 6th year with CSBC. She is the current TK teacher at St. James Catholic School and thanks her incredible experience as a CSBC student for the pull to come back and enroll her own children. The same feeling of family and community exists now, just as it did then and she is honored to be a part of it in a professional capacity. Joy has always felt indebted to her teachers for the amazing experience she had in school and has come to realize that the most valuable thing she can give back is the gift of her time. Joy has 3 young daughters all in the system and her husband just recently became a Saint as he has taken on the role of Boys Varsity Soccer Coach. Looking forward to an incredible year ahead - Go Saints!

"Before my time at Seton, I was an Alum of St. James Grammar School in Johnson City. You might say Catholic Schools of Broome County are in my blood! I have lifelong friends that I made in grammar school who traveled the halls of Seton with me. We get together as often as we can and stay in touch through frequent texts. I believe in the Catholic School System of Broome County. As a teacher of 41 years at St. John the Evangelist, I have seen the children we nurtured and educated become doctors, lawyers, teachers, priests, and religious sisters. I am proud of the heritage of our system, and I pray that the system will continue to provide excellence in education, but most importantly, a Christ-centered education where our Catholic faith is nurtured and handed on to the next generation of Catholics. Go Saints!"
