The Catholic Schools of Broome County consider safety to be one of our primary responsibilities.

There are many actions that are taken regularly to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors. Our buildings are examined regularly to be sure all safety doors, cameras and other mechanisms are working properly. We employ a School Resource Officer (SRO) who maintains a prominent presence in our buildings and develops positive relationships with students. Faculty, staff and students have all participated in safety training. Each school maintains a safety plan which is also shared with local law enforcement. Drills and other safety checks are held regularly to assure compliance with school protocol.

Transportation

Section 3635 of the NYS Education Law requires public school districts to provide transportation for non-public school students that live within fifteen miles of the school they attend. The distances in each case are measured by the nearest available routes from home to school. In order to obtain transportation for their children, parents must file requests with the district in which they live. Districts have discretion to bus beyond the fifteen mile minimum. Any questions can be directed to the main office of your school of choice.
