Our Principal at Saint James School is Mrs. Suzy Kitchen.
Mrs. Kitchen is a Catholic school graduate of Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York. She began her career in education as a teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows School in Vestal, New York, moved to Binghamton City School District and is back to her roots at St. James School.
Prior to assuming her leadership role, Mrs. Kitchen served as the Challenge Enrichment Program District Coordinator for the Binghamton City School District, leading district-wide inclusive enrichment program serving 4,000 Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students. Her primary responsibilities included budgeting, curriculum enrichment and community outreach. Additionally, Mrs. Kitchen was extensively involved in coordinating professional development training in technology, visual thinking strategies, shared inquiry discussion and computer programing. She was the first teacher in Binghamton to become Lead Teacher Certified in Project Lead the Way Launch, the elementary segway to the high school Project Lead the Way STEM program.
Mrs. Kitchen has been involved in the life of her local Roman Catholic parish. She has served as a Faith Formation Instructor, Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
