Safety & Security

The Catholic Schools of Broome County consider safety to be one of our primary responsibilities.

There are many actions that are taken regularly to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors. Our buildings are examined regularly to be sure all safety doors, cameras and other mechanisms are working properly. We employ a School Resource Officer (SRO) who maintains a prominent presence in our buildings and develops positive relationships with students. Faculty, staff and students have all participated in safety training.  Each school maintains a safety plan which is also shared with local law enforcement.   Drills and other safety checks are held regularly to assure compliance with school protocol.

Meet our School Resource Office: Mr. Kevin Leska

Mr. Leska has twenty-five years law enforcement experience, retiring from the Binghamton Police Department in 2018. He previously worked in the Binghamton School District and BOCES – Columbus Learning Center as a SRO/duty officer. He has experience in SWAT, detectives, and juvenile crime prevention and intervention. In addition, Mr. Leska coaches girls lacrosse.

Admission to Catholic Schools of Broome County is the first step on a journey toward personal success.
