Connor Murray Memorial Scholarship
With your support, the Connor Murray Memorial Scholarship will help single-parent families with tuition assistance in grades 7-12 at Seton Catholic Central.
Connor Murray had a joy that took over the room when she entered it. She was a magnetic daughter and friend. If you met her, you knew her, you remembered her. Her smile lit up a room and was always seen no matter what Connor was feeling. Her laugh was contagious, and she offered encouragement to everyone she met. Connor just simply loved life. She knew what she wanted, went after it, and always succeeded.
Connor attended St John’s school from pre-k thru 6th grade. She played CYO basketball for St John’s from Kindergarten until 12th grade. She was an SCC graduate, class of 2017. Connor was a member of YES LEADS, GOD SQUAD, and The National Honor Society. She played modified and varsity tennis, modified, JV, and Varsity softball. Connor worked four summers at NYSEG stadium (2015-2019). She was found smiling at the back BBQ pit. Connor was the top pick to enter SUNY Broome nursing program out of over 1,000 students who applied. She entered the program right out of high school. She was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in college. She graduated SUNY Broome with her associate’s degree in nursing in May 2019. Connor had accepted a job position in the OR at Wilson hospital starting in July 2019. She also was accepted into SUNY Delhi’s online program for her bachelor’s in nursing. Just three weeks after graduating from nursing school Connors’s body died unexpectedly from a bilateral pulmonary embolism on June 12, 2019. She was just 20 years old. Connor continued to help people by donating her tissue. Once a Saint always a Saint.
