The Saints Fund is the Catholic Schools of Broome County’s Annual Fund. Gifts to this fund are critical to the success of our schools. The cost to educate a student is more than what is charged for tuition. These gifts are raised and spent in the current fiscal year and help to close this gap. Your support helps to provide tuition assistance, programming and faculty and staff support. Gifts to the Saints Fund allow us to support our students to become leaders of tomorrow. A perfect example of your support can be seen on the right.

Seven elementary students had one goal in mind when they started their 2017-18 Odyssey of the Mind season; a trip to the national competition in Ames, Iowa. The All Saints Elementary team made up of: Isabella O’Brien, 11, Christian Taber, 11, Giada Circensi, 10, Nader Sabewi, 11, Mack Patterson, 9, Lincoln Patterson, 10 and Olivia O’Brien, 7 and coaches Michele Patterson and Amy O’Brien, knew they wanted another shot to compete for the national title at Iowa State University. The team made it to nationals two years ago and placed twentieth. They knew they could do better.
The elementary students traveled over 1,030 miles and shared their “Starbreaks” skit. “Starbreaks” is a Starbucks-inspired hangout for extraterrestrials. Creatures go there to rest and relax, but also to participate in a talent competition. It is their one chance to make it big. The characters in the skit, “Bella Boba” and “Earl Gray”, were beverage inspired. The students’ hard work and dedication paid off. They came in second place.
Your support and commitment to the Catholic Schools of Broome County makes competing in competition likes this possible for our students. Thank you for your ongoing support. Be on the lookout for this year’s team and all they accomplish in spring 2019!
